Case Study

Last week in South Africa there was an outbreak of smallpox. At first someone by the name of Jenny Fatback had smallpox. Jenny had the symptoms of fevers, chills, muscle aches. She also had a flat reddish rash on the chest, back, and abdomen. She also had more symptoms such as high fever, fatigue, severe headache, backache, malaise, raised pink rash, delirium, vomiting, diarrhea, and excessive bleeding. Someone in the village was trying to make Jenny feel better so then she has caught the disease. After she has caught the disease everyone in the village has caught the disease. Jenny had to go to the hospital and get tests ran on her and the results came up as smallpox. The doctors have gave her a vaccine after they figured out what everyone had they shipped the vaccine to South Africa to cure them.

Smallpox History

In the tenth century people who had smallpox may not get it again. Also in the colonial times non-infected people were scratched into their skin with infected things from other sick people which made more people sick. Smallpox was first discovered in 800 A.D.

Smallpox Outbreaks

Due to my research Smallpox will not occur anywhere else next because it has been eradicated on 1979. In 1972 Yugoslavia was the last outbreak of smallpox since then it was eradicated.
